Merseyside Police has issued an update on the Ashley Dale murder trial.
The Knowsley Council environmental health officer was found shot in the back yard of a property on Leinster Road, Old Swan, shortly after midnight on August 21, 2022. Detectives said a gunman had burst through her front door and fired multiple shots "indiscriminately", one of which had struck Ashley in the abdomen.
Now Merseyside Police has given an update on the trial. Following two of the murder suspects, Joseph Peers and James Withaman, appearing in court on Friday, June 30, police have said their charges have been updated to include a charge of conspiracy to murder Lee Harrison.

Peers, 28, of Woodlands Road, Roby, and Witham, 40, of Ashbury Road, Huyton, were charged with the murder of Ashley in January. In addition they have been charged with conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Both men have pleaded not guilty to all charges. Sean Zeisz, 27, of Longreach Road in Huyton, and Niall Barry, 26, of Moscow Drive in Tuebrook, were charged with Ashley’s murder in February.
They have not yet entered a plea.
