Having mice, or any rodent, in your home is not a pleasant experience but there are ways to avoid it.
Mice can cause damage to your home but mousetraps aren't always the solution. Many people are praising a little known trick to keep mice out and it's available to purchase at Amazon.
According to reviewers, packing steel wool is a great "humane" way to rid your house of rodents. Self proclaimed "experts in pest control and property care" Rentokil, said sealing small holes in property with steel wool can prevent easy access to mice. They said: "It is unlikely that mice will chew through steel wool but if it isn't packed tightly enough they will simply pull it out.

"Using a combination of steel wool and caulk (flexible sealant) is a more effective solution to sealing gaps. To repel mice from using air bricks or vents (especially if they are damaged) try using fine galvanised wire mesh to allow air to circulate whilst keeping out the mice."
Rentokil discussed the success of steel wool while myth busting several other common natural mouse repellents. Peppermint, moth balls, and ultrasonic sound waves are old wives tales that are said to rid the home of rodents but a spokesperson claims they "don’t actually do a great deal to resolve a mouse infestation."
The product has plenty of five star reviews on Amazon, with one reviewer commenting: "Since we put this product down we have heard or seen a mouse good stuff, thank you." Another added: "I ordered this steel wool to block up some holes in my garage after discovering a mouse. It seems to have done the trick as I've not seen any since. There was a decent amount in the pack and good value for money."
While a third said: "Would never have thought of this but it's very effective. If you want to block rodent holes give it a try." And another person said in their review: "I can't praise steel wool rodent control enough. It's a simple yet highly effective method for keeping rodents at bay. Placing steel wool in potential entry points is a humane and chemical-free solution that truly works, providing peace of mind and protection for my home."
Steel wool can be found on Amazon for £13.49 here. Or you can purchase smaller packs of 150g from B&Q for £3.70 or Screwfix for £5.59 for 450g.
