A family 'wonderland' event celebrating Alice, the Mad Hatter and Dormouse from the popular Lewis Carroll tale, is taking place in Walton Hall Park this spring.

Adventures in Wonderland is filled with enchanting activities for kids under 10, with children encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters. There will be activity stations along the route, including the Pixie Beauty Parlour, Caterpillar Crafts and Magical Mask Making, Once Upon a Storytime, Sparkly Slime Making, Terrific Tattoos, Time for Tea Fairy cake decorating and Lucky Dip.

All children who complete the walk will receive a keepsake medal. The event is organised and staffed by Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, who bring the annual Spooky Welly Walk to Liverpool.

Polly O’Gorman, the charity’s events fundraising manager, said, ‘’We’re thrilled to be bringing Adventures in Wonderland back to Walton Hall Park this year, it’s the perfect setting. We all really enjoyed last year’s event and lots of families told us they loved it too`. It’s great to have a real family event to make the most of springtime.

‘’There’s a serious side to this too. Proceeds from the event will help fund our vital work, supporting all those affected by lung cancer, which remains the UK’s biggest cancer killer, claiming over 35,000 lives every year.

‘’What few people understand is that anyone with lungs can get this disease; young or old, rich or poor, man or woman – anyone from any background – even if they’ve never smoked in their life. Our mission is to provide information, support, and practical help for anyone affected by lung cancer.

‘’We fund ground-breaking research with a focus on improving early detection of lung cancer and improving the experience of people diagnosed with it. So by supporting Adventures in Wonderland, you’re helping all those at risk of getting lung cancer, which means everyone.‘’

Adventures in Wonderland will take place on Sunday, April 2, running from 11am – 4pm. Tickets are £5, or £18 for a family of four, Under twos go free. Book tickets here.
