A police scene remains in place after a man was found unconscious on the street.
Police and paramedics were called to Fulton Street in L5 just before midnight on Saturday, May 27 after a man was found unconscious after being assaulted. The victim, who was in his 50s, was taken to hospital was described as being in a serious but stable condition.
On Sunday, a number of roads were closed including Fulton Street, Blackstone Street and Regent Street, following the incident. Photos showed forensics also working at the scene.

Police remained at the scene today, Monday, May 29 and Blackstone Street was still cordoned off. Photos of the scene taken by an ECHO photographer showed a number of cordons within one another. A police officer was also pictured at the cordon.
Detective Inspector Rob Pritchard said on Sunday: “Enquiries are in the very early stages to establish what has taken place. I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity at around midnight and saw the assault take place to please contact us and help with our enquiries.
“I also ask any motorists who were in the area to please check your dashcam footage in case you have captured something which will assist in the investigation. Every piece of information or footage could be vital in establishing what happened."
