A road was completely closed for a number of hours after a casualty was "medically trapped" after a three car crash.
Cheshire Police and fire and rescue service were called to Welsh Road, near the junction of Heath Lane, in Ellesmere Port, following reports of an incident at around 7.55pm on Wednesday, May 17. Once emergency services at the scene arrived they found three cars had crashed.
Police closed the road in both directions and passing cars were turned away from the scene by police officers. One fire engine from Powey Lane and the Major Rescue Unit from Winsford were called to the scene as a casualty was medically trapped in one of the cars.

Firefighters worked for over an hour to remove the casualty and they were passed into the care of the North West Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles. Firefighters are working to extricate one casualty who is medically trapped inside one of the vehicles.
"The casualty has now been removed from the vehicle and passed into the care of paramedics."
The road reopened shortly before 10pm.
Cheshire Police was approached for a comment.
