Man’s hearing aid dislodged after stranger punches him in toilet

A man's hearing aid was dislodged after he was punched in the side of the head.

Officers were called to Wigan North Western Railway Station following reports of an assault shortly after 7pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8. Police said a man was punched in the side of the head by a stranger in the men's toilets at the station.

The blow caused the victim's hearing aid to become dislodged. Detectives investigating the reported assault have issued a CCTV image of a man who may have information that could help their investigation.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Do you recognise this man? Detectives investigating an assault at Wigan North Western Railway Station are today issuing a CCTV image in connection.

"The incident happened shortly after 7pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8, when the victim was punched in the side of the head by a stranger in the men's toilets at the station.

"The blow caused the victim's hearing aid to become dislodged. Officers believe the person in the image may have information that could help their investigation."
