A woman escaped through the back door of her own home after masked men broke in.
Police were called to Knowsley Road in St Helens at around 9.45pm on Easter Sunday after two men with their faces covered forced entry to a home. The men confronted the occupier of the home, a woman in her 50s, and she was assaulted, suffering facial injuries.
She was able to escape the property using a rear entrance. Nothing was stolen from the property but the woman is said to be severely shaken up.
