Ghosthunters believe they spotted apparitions on a visit to a reputedly haunted former hospital building.
Alan Rogers and John Wharton, childhood friends turned paranormal investigators known as C.O.R.P.S.E Incorporated, went to the former Newsham Park hospital in Tuebrook.
The site has long been linked to spooky sightings, and Alan and John believe they saw a number of ghostly goings-on while they explored, with two spirits spotted.

In different parts of the building, the team snapped images of a man who they believe was wearing a straitjacket, and what they said appeared to be a girl.
Alan Rogers said: “Newsham Park was an orphanage, then it was a hospital, and then it was a mental asylum. So, I think we’ve captured two different apparitions from two different times.”
Newsham Park Hospital has a history of ghost sightings, including an old woman seen staring out of an upstairs window, and accounts of young children spotted in what was called the ‘Naughty Boy’s Corridor’.
The Naughty Boy’s Corridor is apparently one of the most active areas in the whole building, with many spectral sightings of children thought to have died during the hospital’s time as a Victorian orphanage.
C.O.R.P.S.E. Inc. got their start in the paranormal investigation business with a poltergeist they spotted in Rock Ferry.
They sent the pictures to paranormal expert Tom Slemen, author of the Haunted Liverpool series, who confirmed their suspicions.
The team say that while they do some research on a location before they visit it, they avoid looking at other investigators’ evidence.
C.O.R.P.S.E. Inc. said: “That’s why we’re different from other paranormal groups, because we don’t go looking, we just go to investigate them, to investigate properties.”
Alan said: “Sometimes we do get scared, but it’s natural to us now.”
