We first reported on the death of Ste Rowley, who grew up in Liverpool, weeks ago after police confirmed a man had died after being hit by a Mercedes on the M62. Since then the true nature of the "great man" and "larger than life personality" who couldn't do enough for people has come to light.
Ste's family have now arranged his funeral – Thursday, April 13 – to give him "the send off he deserves." They ask people to wear bright and cheerful clothes as they say their final goodbyes.

Suspect named as footage shows armed police surrounding house
A man has been charged after armed police surrounded a house in Old Swan. Dramatic video sent to the ECHO shows the moment armed officers descended on a home yesterday afternoon.
Police have confirmed a man has been charged for multiple offences after their visit. He is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, May 2.
City's longest sentences as Cashman given 42 years
The ECHO took a look at the longest sentences recieved in recent years after Thomas Cashman was jailed for 42 years for the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel. The grim list includes a thug who screamed at a judge calling him a "fat paedophile," a man who directed the torture of a dad over a cannabis importation plot, and a gang ringleader who set a man ablaze to enforce dominance.
Schoolboy airlifted to hospital
A boy in his pre-teens was hit off his bike by a car with emergency services rushing to the scene at around 9am this morning. The road was closed while paramedics worked at the scene with an air ambulance taking the boy to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
