We're graced in Liverpool with some quality Irish pubs.
Liverpool has an incredibly rich Irish heritage and we see just how strong that bond is every year when St Patrick's Day arrives in the city. On the day the Irish pubs are bustling, Guinness is drunk, green is worn and a general joyfulness runs throughout the city as people celebrate what is believed to be the traditional date death of St Patrick, patron saint of Ireland.
This year the lauded St Patrick's Day parade returns to the city and will begin at the Old Irish Centre on Mount Pleasant. The parade will then march through the city before arriving at one of our famous Irish pubs, Fitzgeralds.
Liverpool is well known for its Irish pubs, and contains what some will argue are the best in the country. We've got Shenanigans, the aforementioned Fitzgeralds, the Celtic Corner, McCooleys, Flanagan's Apple, Nelly Foleys, Lingmell Inn, Beeswing, Dirty O'Sheas, The Liffey, The Irish House, Tess Rileys, Pogue Mahone – just to name a few.
We're sure everyone's been to at least one or two of them, so in honour of St Patrick's Day take our quiz and test your knowledge of Liverpool's Irish pubs and bars.
If you can't see the quiz, you can find it here.
