Coronation Street's Daniel Brocklebank was supported as he shared details of his sad family loss.
The soap star appeared on today's edition of Good Morning Britain to talk about his character's heartbreaking storyline. Daniel plays vicar Billy Mayhew and his onscreen lover, Paul Foreman, is currently battling motor neurone disease.
During the advert break in last night's episode, Corrie teamed up with the Motor Neurone Disease Association for a special advert to raise awareness about the condition. Susanna Reid said she was "overwhelmed" with emotion after seeing the advert, which was narrated by Daniel.

The soap star said it was particularly emotional to be a part of the storyline as he is an ambassador for the MND charity as his grandad died after suffering with the condition. He said: "Sadly he passed away 22 years ago so when our producers called me to tell me this is where they were taking Billy and Paul's journey it came as quite a surprise.
"They knew nothing of my connection with MND." Daniel shared the moment he was told about the storyline when one of the show bosses phoned him while he was out walking the dog.
He said: "We don't often get calls from our bosses. My legs went a bit weak because it's been such a big subject in my life over the past two decades.
"They had no idea so I can't help but think my grandad had something to do with this. It feels strangely beautiful to be able to commemorate him and the many other people I've known with MND."
