74 Liverpool Echo tributes, deaths and funeral notices this week

We are proud to be the place where important family announcements are made

Our thoughts are with those who have lost a loved one
Our thoughts are with those who have lost a loved one

Announcing the passing of a loved one in local news media is a longstanding tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements.

Every notice published to our newspaper and website also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk – the UK’s number one site for death notices and memoriams. Every notice remains online forever providing friends and families with a lifelong tribute to their loved one, a safe place online to share memories, add tributes, photographs and make donations in memory.

Each week we pay tribute to the loved ones remembered in our area with a funeral notice and online tribute page. To read the latest announcements and add tributes to those from our area who have passed away, or to create a funeral notice yourself, click here.

  14. Doris 'Dolly' Higgins

Doris 'Dolly' Higgins – My wonderful mum. You can shed tears that she is gone, Or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she is gone, Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Your ever-loving son Stephen & Tina

Dad is having a direct cremation and there will be no service to attend. Instead we would ask family and friends up and down the country and across the world (we are a big family) to commemorate our wonderful Dad in their own way and raise a glass in honour of his memory. 10. IN MEMORIAMS – Lillian Ann McKay

Lillian Ann McKay – One year ago today, January 21st 2023. When I sit and remember you, I realise that you were my Mum longer than you were a daughter, a grandmother, an aunty or a wife. Only you being a sister was longer. We had our ups and downs, as mothers and daughters do. However, the bond between us can never be broken by anything, anyone or even death itself. You are now reunited with your beloved mother Alice, who passed away on 22nd August 1967, and your beloved daughter Elaine, who passed away on 7th April 2004. Until we meet again within the bounds of Heaven, rest in eternal peace as you deserve, Mum. All my love from your daughter Deb and your Grandson Thom.

  12. Reidar (Ray) Karlsen

(Ray) 22nd January, nine years today. I thought perhaps I'd miss you less the more that time went by, I thought there'd even come a day when I'd no longer cry. But sadly this is not the case and time has not my pain erased, I guess I'll simply have to face I'll miss you every day. Devastated wife Pauline xx Our time together was special so were the memories we made, and although you live in Heaven now those memories never fade. I bow my head in silence and remember my dad with love, and I know that you are up there watching from above. Every day is a struggle and nothing feels the same, my heart breaks a little more every time I hear your name. You'll always be remembered and time may heal my heart, but a piece of me is missing since the day we had to part. Devastated daughter Sharon and Bluey xx If I could write a story it would be the greatest ever told, of a kind and loving dad who had a heart of gold. I could write a million pages but there's one thing I would say, just how much I love and miss him every single day. I know he always loved me I may be hurt but I won't be sad, I know he'll send down the answers because he'll always be my dad. Devastated daughter Julie xx You held our hands when we were small you caught us when we fell, the hero of our childhood and of later years as well, every time we think of you our hearts just fill with pride, and although we'll always miss you grandad we know you're by our side. In laughter and in sorrow in sunshine and in rain, we know you're watching over us until we meet again. Devastated grandsons Charlie and Lewis xx
