An "absolutely brutal" Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Liverpool.

RYR633 took off from Copenhagen to Dublin at 10.30am on Sunday, January 21 only to be diverted twice due to Storm Isha. Passengers said the flight suffered two aborted landings in Dublin before landing in Manchester shortly after lunch.

One woman, called Elaine Gleeson, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to speak out about her experience. She claims that she was stuck on the Ryanair flight for 12 hours before spending the night asleep on the floor of Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The plane originally took off from Copenhagen to Dublin before being diverted to Manchester due to the conditions after attempting to land in Belfast. Passengers then spent four hours on the ground in Manchester before the plane attempted to fly to Dublin once again, only to be diverted to Liverpool three hours later.

Elaine said it was "absolutely brutal" spending 12 hours on the aircraft. She said: "Surely it would’ve been easier to just cancel the flight as soon as we were diverted to Manchester 9 hours ago? Instead of having to endure 3 hours of torture flying through Storm Isha and still charging passengers for food and drinks."

She added: "Waiting for a flight out of Liverpool this morning. We all slept soundly on the cold floors of the airport after being promised accommodation for the night by Ryanair."

Ryanair have been approached for comment.
