Sarah Ferguson has revealed that she is battling an aggressive form of skin cancer – just months after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Duchess of York’s spokesperson said the diagnosis had been “distressing”, but that she otherwise remains in good spirits.
The malignant melanoma was found after her dermatologist asked that several moles were tested at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy.
This comes while both King Charles and the Princess of Wales are dealing with their respective health scares, with Prince Harry and Meghan reaching out to lend their support.
The couple reportedly made contact as Kate spends her sixth day recovering from abdominal surgery at the London Clinic and King Charles prepares to undergo treatment for his enlarged prostate.
A source told The Mirror: “The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health. The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes.”

Naomi Campbell is one of the many high-profile people rallying around Sarah Ferguson after it was revealed she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of skin cancer.
Commenting under the her recent Instagram post, the supermodel wrote: “Praying for recovery seeming love. Naomi.”
“I am incredibly thankful to the medical teams that have supported me through both of these experiences with cancer and to the MAYRLIFE Clinic for taking gentle care of me in the past weeks, allowing me time for recuperation,” the Duchess of York wrote.
“I am resting with family at home now, feeling blessed to have their love and support.”

Sarah Ferguson takes to social media to show appreciation for messages of support
Sarah, Duchess of York has said she is in “good spirits” and “grateful for the many messages of love and support” after announcing she had been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
In a post on Instagram, she said: “I have been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
“It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was.
“Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support.”
She said she was “incredibly thankful” to her medical teams, adding: “I believe my experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma and urge anyone who is reading this to be diligent.”
“I am resting with family at home now, feeling blessed to have their love and support,” she said.

Kate keen not to stall work as she recovers
The Princess of Wales has been recovering in hospital since Tuesday following a successful abdominal surgery for an unknown health concern.
She is expected to remain at the London Clinic for several more days before continuing her recovery at home. It’s expected she won’t be able to carry out official royal engagements until after Easter, but aides say she “will not stall” her work.
An aide told the Express: “Her passion for the early years is clear, there will be a huge continuation of that campaign, and she will be keen to be out continuing that conversation with the nation as soon as possible.”

Sarah Ferguson has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of skin cancer, just months after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Duchess of York previously shared her fears that her cancer would spread while she publicly spoke about her breast cancer treatment in November.
“And then of course you start four in the morning syndrome,” she told ITV’s loose Women. ‘You know that moment when you suddenly wake up and go ‘oh I’m sure I’ve got cancer somewhere else… I’m gonna go and ring my doctor’.
“I’m getting over that but it’s only been a few months since I’ve had the operation, so I’m just beginning to sit up straight.”

Queen to visit local business as King prepares for treatment
The Queen is set to visit a local jewellery shop in Swindon this morning as King Charles halts royal duties to prepare for enlarged prostate treatment.
Camilla will join the celebrations at Deacon & Son in Swindon as it marks its 175th birthday and officially open a new clock workshop and tour a recently completed state-of-the-art Rolex watch workshop.
Managing director Richard Deacon told The Swindon Advertiser: ““I’m sure my great-great-great-uncle, George Deacon, would be absolutely delighted that the business he founded back in 1848 would one day receive a visit from a member of royalty.
“We’re absolutely thrilled that Her Majesty The Queen has agreed to join in our celebrations and helped us to mark such a significant moment in the history of Deacons.”

What is malignant melanoma?
Sarah, Duchess of York has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma following the removal of a cancerous mole during treatment for breast cancer.
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other areas of the body. Any diagnosis of melanoma is cancer, even if the term “malignant” is not used before it.
The NHS states that the main cause of melanoma is ultraviolet light, which comes from the Sun and is used in sunbeds.
Other factors that increase the chances of getting melanoma include having pale skin; red or blonde hair; blue or green eyes; a large number of freckles or moles and a family history of skin cancer.
The risk of melanoma increases with age, but compared to most other cancer types, it is also quite common in younger people, say Cancer Research UK.

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly still “very resilient” following her skin cancer diagnosis according to her friends.
Yesterday, the Duchess of York’s spokesperson said a malignant melanoma was found after her dermatologist asked that several moles were tested at the same time.

A source told the MailOnline that the duchess “has been gathering her strength in Austria and is now being supported by the family”.

Searches for ‘prostate check’ surge after the announcement of King Charles’ hospital procedure
The King’s upcoming “corrective procedure” has caused a surge in Google searches for prostate checks worldwide.
The analysis, by skincare experts at Supplement Doctor, reveals that searches for ‘prostate check’ and ‘how to check prostate’ increased by 242% and 217% worldwide in the last seven days after King Charles’ announcement of suffering symptoms connected to an enlarged prostate. It is understood that The King was keen to reveal his diagnosis to encourage others to get checked also.
Worldwide searches for ‘prostate symptoms’ have also soared by 290% in the past seven days at the same time. This is an increase of over four times the average search interest.
The announcement has also encouraged searches for ‘prostate check age’, which have skyrocketed by 275% in the past 12 months worldwide.
