Detective Inspector Michael Fletcher said: “This was an unprovoked and violent attack that left a man with a serious injury to his mouth. I am appealing to anyone who recognises these men, to come forward.
"We believe they could hold vital information to our continuing enquiries as we work to find anyone responsible and bring them to justice. The incident happened during a busy time of the night when the pub would have been filled with people.
"If you were at The Fall Well Wetherspoons or outside the pub in the early hours of Saturday morning and witnessed the incident or have captured images or videos of the men on your mobile please contact police as a matter of urgency.”
