As part of its latest collection of Easter chocolates, Aldi has launched a brand new sweet treat that includes similar ingredients to a discontinued Nestle bar. After 65 years, Caramac was axed back in November as a result of 'low sales'.
The news left thousands of fans upset, with some rushing to stores to buy more before they disappeared for good. But now, Caramac lovers could satisfy their cravings with an alternative at Aldi.
The budget supermarket has released a box of Belgian Chocolate Office Bunny, which is also made from blonde chocolate – just like Caramac. Priced at £2.99, Aldi describes the Easter-themed confectionary as "caramel flavoured white chocolate, filled with salted milk chocolate ganache."

However, this does pose the question of what will happen to the treat after Easter? Commenting on the chocolate, Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, said: "Aldi's Easter chocolate range, particularly the Belgian Blonde line, demonstrates the retailer's knack for understanding consumer nostalgia and offering budget-friendly alternatives.
"It's a clever move that caters to both the sentiment and the wallet of chocolate lovers." Caramac was originally created by Mackintosh's and since it launched over 60 years ago in 1959 it has been a mainstay of the confectionery fixtures across the UK.
The name is a combination of 'Caramel' and 'Mackintosh' and was determined through a competition held by the management team at Mackintosh's for their workers at the factory in Norwich.
Back in November, Nestle told fans the move to axe Caramac was 'a difficult decision'. In the days that followed, bars were fly off shelves as masses of fans rushed to stores.
