Throughout the decades, Liverpool city centre has undergone many significant changes.
While many buildings, shops and restaurants have come and gone, it is fascinating to look back at what Liverpool has looked like over the years. We have found 12 photos which highlight the changing face of Liverpool city centre as different generations will remember it, with images of 1950s Liverpool through to the city centre in the early 00s.
Although the images show the city centre differently to how you may know it, there are still a lot of similarities and Liverpool's most iconic streets including Bold Street and Castle street are difficult to mistake no matter what the decade.
Many of these images may stir memories of years gone by and will offer an insight into how the city centre has been shaped to look how it does today.
