A Rock FM DJ has issued a statement after Hits Radio merged the breakfast show with Radio City's.
Brad Helme had previously presented the Rock FM breakfast show alongside Joel Ross. However, station owners Bauer Media last year confirmed a line-up shake-up. Joel will now present a new breakfast show alongside Leanne Campbell as the two sister stations merged.
Brad has taken to social media platform X and thanked fans for their support after the change. He said: "I decided to take a step away from the show as it was heading in a new direction and I got offered a new exciting opportunity.

"Joel and Leanne are brilliant broadcasters and I hope you continue to support the show. Rock FM will always hold a special place in my heart."
The merger is one of a number of changes announced at Bauer Media-owned stations. It was announced this week that that Radio City will be known as Hits Radio Liverpool from April.
The programme director for the Hits Radio Network has issued a statement to confirm Radio City is set to enter a new chapter when the rebrand comes into effect. Gary Stein said: "We are passionate about radio and the unique mix of companionship, information and entertainment that it offers and want to make sure it thrives in years to come.
"The audio landscape has evolved dramatically in recent years and, thanks to advances in digital listening, there is even more choice for audiences than ever before. By transforming into this nationally recognised brand, we’re really excited by the potential that the station has to grow. Of course, all the local news and information that we know you value remains, along with the music that you love to soundtrack your day to. It’s Radio City but with a new name."
The Radio City breakfast show was previously hosted by Leanne and Scott Hughes. Scott, who Leanne previously described as her "10th radio husband", will not be returning to the station after his contract was not renewed back in November.
In a video posted to Instagram at the end of last month, Scott bid a "final goodbye" to Radio City. The montage featured photos and short clips of him and Leanne together and the stunning views from the station's iconic tower.
Captioning the post, which he shared with his Instagram followers, Scott said: "So… that’s it! After 15 years at Radio City, today I said a final goodbye. Thank you for listening, thank you for the memories, and here’s to the future! Liverpool. What a bloody city!"
