KFC has given an update on its Edge Lane restaurant after a fire earlier this year.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to Edge Lane at around 8.40pm on Monday, August 21 after a fire broke out in the kitchen. It was later confirmed the fire was "accidental" and caused by overheating of cooking oil.
At the time KFC said nobody was hurt in the fire and staff were working with authorities to make the building safe to reopen. In an update to The ECHO on Friday, December 29, KFC said they were working to get the branch back open "as soon as they can".

A spokesperson from KFC said: "We know our loyal fans in Liverpool have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our Edge Lane restaurant and we miss you too! Fear not, we’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can, serving up our delicious finger lickin’ chicken. Watch this space…"
