A mum picked up the phone to her partner of 30 years unaware it would be the last time she saw or spoke to him.

Trevor Farthing was 52 years old when he disappeared in 2017 and has never been seen since. His long term partner Marie Comber and their three daughters Gemma, 38, Megan, 30, and Faye, 21, have spent the last six years desperately searching for answers over his whereabouts.

Marie told the ECHO: "The day I last saw him was on Sunday 18 June 2017. I'd gone out and when I came back he'd had an argument with my daughter, which people do.

"They weren't very happy with each other. He said 'I'm going out and taking the dog.' He went out for a bit and when he came back he wasn't himself.

"Things escalated and he was acting a bit strange – he wasn't like that. He was a nice person. Everyone knew him and got on with him."

On June 21, 2017, Trevor was last seen leaving a corner shop on Marshalls Cross Road in St Helens at around 9.30am. Marie was at work doing some training when she received a phone call from Trevor that day to say he was "going away". Marie and her family have not heard from Trevor since.

Trevor Farthing, from Newton-Le-Willows was 52 years old when he disappeared in 2017 and has never been seen since

Merseyside Police have repeatedly appealed for information about his whereabouts but there have been no confirmed sightings of him. Marie said the hardest part of the last six years has been Trevor "not being here and not knowing where he is."

In a message directly to Trevor, Marie said: "Why don't you let us know that you're OK? That's all we want to know. Even if he didn't want to come back here, as long as he was fine and getting on OK that would be fine for me.

"I can't force him to come back home with me. If he'd started a relationship with someone else that's fine. It would just be nice to know if he's OK – that's the main thing."

Marie and Trevor had been together for 30 years when he disappeared and she said they did "everything together."

She said: "We went bike riding, we did crafts together, we did everything together. He did go out to town at times for a drink with his friends, but most of the time we were doing something together – gardening, DIY."

Missing Trevor Farthing from Newton Le Willows

Six years may have passed since Trevor first went missing but Marie continued: "You never stop looking everywhere you go. Any woods, any trees, any pathway, any person you see – you're looking all the time.

"Recently there's been a man sleeping in Earlestown and I enquired as to who this man was, what's his name, just in case. You never know. You go out into a town and there's people on the streets and you're examining them just to see if it could be him.

"Would he have a beard now? Would he have longer hair? He always had his face shaved. They might find a body somewhere – it could be Trevor, you don't know.

"It's horrible to think there's so many people who go missing. As soon as I hear someone has gone missing I'm onto it. I'm watching all the time. I'm thinking 'maybe when they find this person they might come across Trev somewhere.'"

Trevor is described as 5ft5 with a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm which are connected with a red flame. He has a large black scorpion tattoo on the top of his left arm. He also has a 10p sized birthmark under the left side of his chin which may help to identify him.
