A teenager was arrested after three separate reports of robberies around a town centre.
The 19-year-old was arrested after police conduced a stop and search on Whitby Road, in Ellesmere Port. Police had received powers to stop and search any individual without grounds for suspicion in areas of Ellesmere Port's town centre, also known as a Section 60 order.
The teenager was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was taken into police custody. The arrest followed three separate reports of robbery on Westminster Road, Exeter Road, and Ellesmere Port railway station on Wednesday, February 8.

Speaking after the arrest on Friday (February 10), Cheshire Police's DCI Justin Hancock said: "This investigation remains very much ongoing, although I hope that today’s arrest provides reassurance for the local community.
"While our enquiries continue, I urge anyone who was in the Westminster Park, Exeter Road or Ellesmere Port Railway Station areas and believes they may have seen anything suspicious or unusual, to get in touch.
"The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant to our investigation."
