A teacher, who has just been named the best in the country, decided to take up the profession after going to a Take That concert.
Matthew King has worked at Trinity St Peters in Formby since 2017. For the 33-year-old teaching runs in the family, his three sisters are also primary school teachers.
Matthew said he did not want to go into the family profession and originally planned to work in finance. However, that changed after a conversation with one of his sisters.

Matthew told the ECHO: "I studied finance at university and thought I would move to London. Then I had a conversation with my sister at a Take That concert and explained I needed more experience for my CV.
"She said I should come and do a couple of days in her school and work in the finance department." Matthew did, but couldn't help watching the teachers and the work they did and thought it looked far more rewarding than the career path he had chosen.
Matthew, from Crosby, has been recognised as one of the best school teachers in the UK. He won gold in the Teacher of the Year in a Primary School in the 2023 Pearson National Teaching Awards. He moved to Trinity St Peters after working for four years at Churchtown Primary in Southport.
Matthew said: "There are so many aspects that go into making a good teacher but you have to make sure the kids like you. That is always my main goal. You should always want the children to go home and want to come in and see you the next day.
"I don't know why I won the award, it is a team effort at the school so I do feel a little bit awkward. You would have to ask someone else why I won but it should be an award for everyone in the school."
Matthew received the news during a special school assembly, and his win was also announced on the One Show. The school and pupils were also featured on the show.
Matthew said: "It was incredible for them and we had a film crew in class we celebrated all together. It has been a memorable experience and something they will remember.
"When I was in the assembly getting the award I remember wanting to bottle that feeling and I never want to forget it. More importantly, I want the kids to remember it in 50 years."
