A Liverpool businesswoman is set to compete in the Miss Universe competition next month.
Jessica Page, 27, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain in Wales this summer. The marketing manager and entrepreneur from Childwall will now fly to San Salvador to contend for the Miss Universe throne.
She will be one of 90 women from around the globe contesting the title on November 18. July 2023 would be her third attempt for the Great British crown, being placed fifth in 2016 and being unplaced in 2019. She said: "I've been doing pageants since I was 17 but Miss Universe was the big one for me.

"When I won it was amazing, I was in shock. You don't know how you're going to react when you win. It was a relief that all my hard work paid off, it was incredible."
Her 'third time lucky' outcome has prompted Jess to encourage other girls never to give up on their dreams, she said: “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.”
Jess, at 5ft 8 1⁄2in, is often described as a Kate Middleton lookalike, to which she says: “Who wouldn’t be flattered by being compared to our amazing future Queen?”
A graduate from University of Chester, where she earned a bachelor's degree in marketing with events management, the Childwall native has worked varied jobs from sales advisor in Hollister and River Island to serving as a hostess for Everton Football Club.
She now works full time as a marketing manager. She also runs a campaign called ‘Take Her Lead’ which emphasises helping young women start their own businesses by promoting public speaking and representing them to put themselves out there.
She said: “I love business and am fulfilling my entrepreneurial drive with the recent launch of my own company. It’s not something that was really encouraged when I was in school and I have hoping that through Take Her Lead, I can introduce more young women to the ideas of being their own boss.”
When asked about her aspirations for the future, Jess said: "I just want to keep on using my entrepreneurial personality to open more businesses and encourage more women to be self-employed."
National director of Miss Universe Great Britain, Paula Abbandonato, said: “I am delighted for Jessica and wish her the very best for Miss Universe. To keep trying even after being disappointed by not winning twice before is testimony to her strength and determination.
"It’s a great message for us as a feminist leaning organisation and I hope she has the best time this year after wanting it, working for it and waiting for it for so long.”
