A woman was hit by a van, causing the road to be shut for hours.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Lee Road and Birkenhead Road in Hoylake today at around 1.50pm. There was a huge response, which involved Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance Service.
The crash involved a van and a female pedestrian. Merseyside Police is yet to give an update on the woman's condition. Pictures of the scene show a cordon in place on Birkenhead Road and a white tent.

An eyewitness said there were around "10 to 15 unmarked police vehicles". There were also a number of fire engines and ambulances at the scene.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said a search and rescue team also attended the scene. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police the driver of the van stopped at the scene.
In a statement, they said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance and a road closure is in place as we begin the early stages of an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
