Police have issued a warning for one area in Merseyside after seeing an increase in crime.
Merseyside Police's Wirral branch took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to warn people living in Seacombe, Egremont, Wallasey Village and New Brighton. The warning came after officers noticed a recent increase in thefts from cars, vans and motorbikes.
The force are encouraging people to make sure valuables are kept safe and out of sight and to make sure vehicles are secure. The post read: "Good afternoon, there has been a recent increase in thefts from motor vehicles in the areas of Seacombe, Egremont, Wallasey Village and New Brighton.

"Remember to keep your valuables safe, out of sight and take time to check that your vehicles are secure."
Merseyside Police have also released nine tips on how to prevent people from breaking into your vehicle.
- Always lock it
- Close windows and the sun roof to prevent "fishing"
- Secure number plated with tamper resistant screws
- Fit locking, anti-tamper wheel nuts to secure allot wheels
- Secure anything that's on the outside of your vehicle
- Take it with you or hide it
- Hide electrical items and leave no clues
- Park in well-lit and busier areas
- Take your documents with you
