Queen of Hope St aims to bring back the classic pub aesthetic for a new generation
New pub Queen of Hope St brings back the flair of ornate and classic pub aesthetics.
Located on the corner of Myrtle Street and Hope Street, in the Josephine Butler building, is a new venture from the 1936 Pub Company that aims to bring its namesake's style back for a new generation.
Queen of Hope St is inspired by the vintage early 19th-century gin palace pub but with a modern twist that appeals to a wide age demographic.

The walls are bedecked with brewery memorabilia, period antiques and specially commissioned large framed prints of some of the queens referred to in the venue’s name. In the hunt for a traditional name, the pub decided to pay tribute to "Liverpool's queens", including feminist and social reformer Josephine Butler.
The venue takes over an expansive area covering 150 seated customers and a further 250 standing capacity. On offer are 17 beers and ales on draught, including a rotating selection of eight cask ales.
'The queen’ will be offering a weekly changing selection of hot and cold pies and savouries from local producers such as Homebaked and the Gluten Free Pie Company, sandwiches with bread from Plattsville bakery as well as daily soups, hot pots and pastries.
Major sporting matches will be played on screens throughout the venue with guests welcome to call in every day from midday to midnight, with the venue launching today. Take a look inside the Queen of Hope St below.
