A man has been charged with causing the death of a Ryanair flight attendant by dangerous driving.
Cinzia Ceravolo died in summer last year after being struck by a car on Hale Road in Speke. The air hostess, 36, had finished a shift at Liverpool John Lennon Airport only minutes earlier.
Kieran Cooney, of Blackrod Avenue in Speke, appeared before Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning, Wednesday, after being charged with causing her death by dangerous driving and drug driving. Charge sheets allege that he was the driver of a Ford Focus involved in the incident and was subsequently found to have a metabolite of cocaine in his system.

The 31-year-old will now appear before Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, October 19. Cooney has been released on unconditional bail until that date.
The ECHO previously reported that police and paramedics were called to the scene, near to the airport, at around 11.45pm on August 22 2022. Ms Ceravolo was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after suffering serious head injuries, but died four days later on August 26.
The Italian national had lived in the UK for five years and was working as a cabin crew member for the airline and residing in South Liverpool. The stewardess had been returning after two days away with work at the time of the incident, arriving back into Liverpool on a flight from Dublin shortly after 11.15pm.
She was described in tributes as an "exceptional rep and cabin crew, the kindest soul, a beautiful human being and a devoted Doctor Who fan".
