People were "terrified" as a loud noise was heard in the skies over Merseyside.
People in Irby, Upton, Moreton, and Huyton all reported hearing a "seriously loud" noise coming on Tuesday, September 19, at around 8pm. People in Liverpool said they "thought a plane was about to crash into their house" or "land in their back garden", with others in Wirral reporting the sound was so loud things fell off their windowsill.
The noise was caused by two RAF Eurofighter Typhoon's flying from the North West to Coningsby, in Lincolnshire. The planes took off near Wrexham before heading up to Wirral and heading towards Liverpool.

The planes then looped over Kirkdale, Anfield, Clubmoor, Huyton, Prescot and Warrington before heading up the River Mersey and back down the centre of Wirral again. The planes then left the area heading east.
According to AirNav the planes were as low as 1400ft. Earlier this week the government announced there will be low flying military planes over a number of regions, including Merseyside, as part of Exercise Cobra Warrior.
The exercise is designed to train participants in high intensity, large force, tactical air warfighting operations. People took to social media to ask if anybody else heard the "loud noises", with hundreds of people replying.
Sam Cupit said: "Two euro fighter typhoons, it was that loud some of our things on our windowsill flew off."
Jade Leanne said: "We heard it, thought a plane was about to crash into our house."
Jessica Kelly said: "Just putting baby to bed, jumped up but couldn’t see anything. Sounded like something was going to crash down."
Sara Peters said: "I was terrified… thought they were going to come through the roof."
Lin Brassey Taylor said: "Good to see our airforce watching over us."
Gordon Lewis said: "That was a brilliant sounding plane lol, it was 2 typhoons. They were much louder at the Southport air show."
Lucy Liam Louie said: "Yeah over mine too, they were fab. Very loud though."
