Today Marks and Spencer opens its new store in Liverpool ONE.
The retailer is moving home from Church Street to Lord Street after almost 100 years in the Crompton House building opposite Primark. M&S has now taken up the former Debenhams site and will open its doors for the first time at 9am.
Percy Pig will be there to greet shoppers and our reporters will be there chatting to customers and staff about the move to the 70,000 sqft store. Join us for the first look inside and all the latest reactions to the shop as people get visit the cafe, food hall and clothes and beauty department.

The first 200 customers will receive golden tickets and every golden ticket is "guaranteed a win" whether it’s a free bag of Percy Pigs or freshly baked cookies from the new M&S Bakery. The old M&S site on Church Street closed for the last time yesterday (Monday, August 14), marking 94 years at the site.

Lily Gillis, 80, from Bootle, has arrived bright and early at the new M&S to meet her nephew for a cup of tea in the cafe. She previously opened the Marks and Spencer store in Aintree.

Alex Yip, 40, and Denice Tso, 35, are also in the queue this morning.
Alex said the store move is a “new chapter” for the high street.
He said: “In our point of view because we live nearby this location is nearer to our home. We’re also curious about what the old shop will be.”

Golden tickets are up for grabs

New features of the Liverpool ONE M&S will include the option to skip the queues altogether and pay straight away in the store fitting rooms.

New M&S Footwear and beauty sections
The new shoe try-on area that was not available in the Church Street store, but the Lord Street one is aimed to make it easier for customers to find the right fit and style. In store there will also be an M&S Beauty department home to popular brands including Apothecary collection as well as its new skincare range Fresh Elements.

Golden tickets for the first 200
The first 200 shoppers at the new M&S will get given golden tickets by the staff. Every golden ticket is "guaranteed a win" whether it’s a free bag of Percy Pigs or freshly baked cookies from the new M&S Bakery.
The golden ticket will also give one lucky customer the chance to win a £200 voucher to spend in-store.
