An eight-year-old schoolgirl has been hit by a taxi and taken to hospital.
Merseyside Police officers were called to Bigdale Drive in Northwood, Kirkby, just after 6pm on Tuesday, July 11, following reports of a crash. Once officers arrived at the scene they found an eight-year-old girl had been hit by a hackney cab on the road between Kennelwood Avenue and Bigdale Drive.
Further emergency services were called to the scene including the North West Air Ambulance Charity who sent an air ambulance. The girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquires. A cordon is in place on the road, which is completely cordoned off, while emergency services assess the scene.
